Modesto Montoya is a nuclear physicist who has conducted research on various topics related to nuclear fission, including Coulomb and even-odd effects in cold and super-asymmetric fragmentation for thermal neutron-induced fission of 235U1, mass and kinetic energy distribution in cold fission of 233U, 235U, and 239Pu induced by thermal neutrons2, and the behavior of the average prompt neutron multiplicity as a function of post- and pre-neutron fragment mass in correlation with the pre-neutron fragment mass distribution in thermal neutron-induced fission of 235U and 233U3. Montoya has also used the 1V1E technique to measure the average prompt neutron multiplicity as a function of the mass of fragments from the neutron-induced fission of 235U4 5 .
